What basic qualities should an Action Research practitioner have? Are you confident of having such attributes which the Action Research demands? If yes, explain the attributes. Take a moment to reflect? Share your understanding.

  1. An Action Research practitioner should have an adequate knowledge of the field which he/she is going to research. It is also necessary to develop research skills and techniques. No one is able to complete the action research until or unless having such skills and techniques.

An action research practitioner must be enthusiastic with keen observation.He must have all the qualities of a good teacher and always should assess his own teaching practices continuously.He should be able to identify gaps in his own practices and in the learning of students .He should be able to plan properly to bridge the gaps in learning if any.dedication towards profession and devotion towards students are the motivational forces for becoming a good practioner.I think I always work for the betterment of students and enthusiastic in doing action researches for the improvement of teaching learning process .

  3. An Action Research practitioner should have an awareness towards the processes of Action Research. He should be an authority of keen observation. He should possess zeal to find solutions of his own problem. He must have the flair to improve the specific situation to find out different solutions of the same problem. He should be collaborative and practical. He should be interested towards change and the improvement of teaching practice. He should develop critical reflection about one's teaching and develop a planned and systematic approach. Finally, he should be open minded to think in all directions and on all aspects. I am sure, I do possess all the aforesaid attributes.

  4. An important characteristic of practitioner/action research is the doer of the research; it is the teacher in his/her classroom rather than an outside researcher as is the case with most traditional academic (observational) research.

  5. An action research practitioner should be clear and confident on the field which he/she is studying. It should be framed, drafted and structured systematically before starting the research. He should have been long carefully and thought about the action field. He must be sincere and concerned about what is the problem, why it occured, how to cure. As well how far the action research results is fruitfull and to how many it could be applicable( scope); these all are much essential and must be learnt before conducting. The quality of the research should be ranked according to the rate of outcome profit.
